I wonder if you have actually read the writings of the authors
you mentioned? If you have and have access to them, would you
kindly post longer quotes or at least confirm that they truly
represent the opinion of these scholars? These very short
quotes do not convey very useful or complete understanding of
the opinion of these authors. If, on the other hand, you are
relying on what others have written, would you at least provide
us with a reference to the book you are taking these quotes
from?
Recently, a non-Muslim contacted our Idara and claimed that the
holy Quran tells us not to pray! His reference was:
"O you who believe! do not go near prayer..."
(Quran, 4:43)
Of course, we knew that the actual quote reads:
"O you who believe! do not go near prayer when you are
Intoxicated until you know (well) what you say, nor
when you are under an obligation to perform a bath --
unless (you are) travelling on the road-- until you
have washed yourselves; and if you are sick, or on a
journey, or one of you come from the privy or you have
touched the women, and you cannot find water, betake
yourselves to pure earth, then wipe your faces and
your hands; surely Allah is Pardoning, Forgiving."
(Holy Quran, An-Nisa, 4.43)
Thank you for your elaboration.
